U7's Hornets vs Heanor Juniors

Well Executed

The Hornets took on a very good defensive Heanor Juniors today, who made the boys work very hard from the off!
The Hornets kicked off and tried to get the ball forward but Heanor were relentless and hard to break, until a little moment of magic from Hayden Evans who drilled one into the back of the net and also came close a second time hitting the woodwork!
Heanor came back with their own attack, catching the lads off guard and pulled it back.
Sidney Robinson made a great effort to save, but just fell short this time around.
The boys went again, with some well executed passing from William Brown to Hayden who squared the ball to Archie Jones who made a great turn round two defenders and struck a fine shot that got blocked first time but he followed through striking again, hitting the poor keeper square in the nose, Archie followed yet again to put it in the net 3rd time round to take us into half time!
The 2nd half opened up with the boys a lot more geared up.....
Some great defending from Quaid Khan and Casey Waring, making his first appearance for the team!
William Brown was taken off due to muscle pain and replaced with Ralfe Dodes and what an impact he made with a great left foot under pressure only seconds after coming on!
Another little break in focus and Heanor were through against Sidney on his own, who unfortunately just couldn't quite fend off the oncoming attack.
More play ensued, with a couple of close chances from William, Archie and Ralfe who all deserved marks on the card!
Quiad and Casey really found their feet in the second half applying tons of pressure to Heanor, making them struggle to string anything together!
A great break from Hayden and with a shot that looked like it had been fired from a rocket, took us to the end whistle!
All in all a very well executed game from our boys, who on a whole looked great.
Really working the ball well up field finding their space and playing some great passes to one another, defensively they fought well and were not scared to dive in for the ball showing great spirit and passion for their colours!
Player of the match has to go to Archie Jones this week, everything seemed to fall into place for him today, tracking back getting stuck in for the ball making some great shots at goal and just seemed to have improved so much on this outing!
But a massive well done to all the boys who played a great game today!
And to Ryan and Charlie who are really shaping the boys into brilliant little players!

The Hornets really are buzzing and so are all of us!
