Hornets vs Allestree Roma

Match report by Tim Jones thriller!
The Hornets played Allestree Roma Sunday in a brilliant end to end match!
The ref blew the whistle and off they went on their 3rd game of the season...
Four touches in and a sweet right foot from Hayden Evans, just like that they were up!
Roma kicked off... with Archie Jones running in and winning the ball and hitting a lovely little chip that found its way behind the keeper and into the back of the net, a goal well deserved after coming so close numerous times last week!
But Roma hit back with force, Sidney Robinson being tested a lot, making a couple of amazing saves, but he fell foul to a break by the opposition and a low ball into the bottom bin!
An own goal and cheeky little trickler over the line from Ralfe Dodes saw the boys up again, only then for another quality strike from Roma just beating Sidney.
Eddie Reeks made his first appearance today along with Kieran Harrison and what an impact they both had on the game, both showing great promise and some quality passes up the field, both coming close to netting too! Quaid Khan also holding up the rear well in his defensive position, his marking was spot on!
Another couple of goals ensued from both sides, then on to the final goal of the game, a wonderfully placed freekick from Evans, ending the game on a high! The hardest game yet for our boys but they dug deep, showed great attitude and performed well... if not better than usual under pressure!
Player of the match this week going to Sidney Robinson, his awareness and ability really shone through today!
A well done to all that played... A great performance on a whole, the best yet!
