ASHBOURNE AZTECS LIONS v SPONDON DYNAMOS PRIMS RAYGAR

We lined up today looking to build on last week’s excellent performance however; we were missing 4 players from that game today.
We made a bright start and ACKERS scored quickly from the edge of the area, the shot was too hot for the keeper to handle. The Lions continued to press and further goals from ACKERS (2) and a delightful finish from JENNINGS from a narrow angle put the Lions in a commanding position. CRITCHLOW made a couple of great saves turning the ball behind and GROCOTT and TARRY were keeping it tight at the back and playing the ball down the wings to start the attack.

The pattern continued after the break CRITCHLOW again making great saves and getting a hand to a powerful shot that beat him. The attacking movement and passing was more fluent in the second half with WOOD and WESTON both narrowly missing getting on the end of great crosses from ACKERS after brilliant wing play. TARRY was still putting in last-ditch tackles to prevent the RAYGAR’s getting a shot and ACKERS managed to get to further goals. GROCOTT also got on scoresheet with a superb finish across the keeper into the bottom corner finishing a nice passing move. Well played Lions.
