Ashbourne Aztecs U10s took part in Field Lane Panthers annual football tournament which consisted of 10 Derbyshire teams. The Aztecs started strong with 1 draw and 3 wins to take them through to the gold cup semi-final.

The semi was a hard fought match which saw a solid defence of William, and Harry stop the attacking Spondon team who were eventually awarded a penalty. Sidney stayed cool and tipped the shot around the post to take it to a shootout where again he saved 2 leaving Harry and Hayden to score and take the team to the cup final against Alvo boys.

The Aztecs started lively with shots from George and Lucas testing the goal keeper. Harry put the Aztecs in front with a long range shot! Ben, Bobby and Hayden contained and troubled Alvo in midfield until Alvo broke through and equalised to take it to another Shootout!

Sidney kept calm in the goals which saw Alvo miss one penalty. Both Harry and Hayden scored their penalties and left it to Ben to score and take the Gold Cup

Great performances from all the players earned them 5 wins only conceding 2 goals and the Gold Cup to bring back to Ashbourne
